This dataset contains identifying information about charities located in the USA. It features nearly 2 million records with some or all of the following key fields: EIN, Name, Description, Addresses.
It aims to be a validated source of basic information for all the nonprofit entities in the US, and a building block for diverse applications such as linking to other datasets, building out additional products, or serving as the reference list for analyses of the sector.
This data was generated from the basic EOBMF dataset from the IRS, as well as additional validated data from Humanitas. We aim to include additional data from other partners as the dataset gets further developed. Having a reliable reference for all entities in a space is a fundamental building block for other analyses: segmenting by types, cross-sectoral analyses, additional data collection for all listed entities, etc.

The EOBMF data is restricted to those who have exempt tax status with the IMF. The Humanitas dataset is restricted to those using Humanitas’ proprietary software, or that Humanitas has added to their own proprietary database.
